The average of the 67 polls shows that Trump would beat Harris 47.4 percent to 45.4 percent.
A potential Trump vs Harris matchup could be plausible after President Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday and endorsed his running mate VP Harris for president. Shortly after the endorsement, the vice president launched her presidential campaign and said she was "honored" to receive the president's endorsement and hopes to win the official nomination at the DNC convention in August.
Despite leading by a slight margin, the Trump campaign predicted Donald Trump could easily defeat Harris if she were to become the Democrat nominee.
So far, the vice president's presidential campaign has been endorsed by President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Clinton, and the son of controversial billionaire Democrat philanthropist Alex Soros. However, Democrats remain divided over who should be the presidential nominee, with the most prominent holdouts in endorsing Harris being former President Barack Obama and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
Biden dropping out comes as there has been building pressure for the incumbent president to step aside in favor of someone else. Calls for him to drop out leading up to his announcement included Democratic lawmakers as well as left-wing donors. The most recent of the 67 polls conducted within the past month include the following, as reported by The Hill.
