"White Women: Everything You Already Know About Your Own Racism and How to Do Better" by Regina Jackson and Saira Rao is a "no-holds-barred guidebook aimed at white women who want to stop being nice and start dismantling white supremacy," according to the overview.
"If you're my friend - and a white woman - I may have a present for you. #WhiteWomen #Race2Dinner #DeconstructingKaren," posted Julia Hanisberg, the president, CEO, and board chair of Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, alongside a picture of a book.
If you are not "ticking white people off on a regular basis," you are not doing it right, the synopsis states.
The authors, Regina Jackson, and Saira Rao, are known for creating Race2Dinner, a program where white women fork over $2,500 in exchange for being educated on how racist they are.
According to their website, the dinner conversations "center on the dismantling of whiteness and white supremacy."
In response to Hanisberg sharing the book to Twitter, she received a massive wave of criticism.
"Rhetorical question. No way this person has friends" wrote conservative commentator Ben Shapiro.
"I've been saying this for years: the primary target of Woke manipulation through CRT is white, liberal women," wrote author James Lindsay. "That's who already has the thumbscrews in."
"Imagine letting someone with this kind of racism be in charge of a hospital," another Twitter user said.
"The List," a catalog of the worst tweets of the week created by journalist Siraj Hashmi, even added the healthcare executive's post to their compilation.
Race2Dinner responded to the backlash, saying that the negative comments prove the need for such a book.
"If you want to SEE how badly white people need this book, just read the comments. MY LORD," the company wrote.
"Anti-racist" activist Preston Mitchum also defended the book, writing that people's reactions to the post "prove the EXACT reason I will always discuss white women ('progressive' or not) and race."
"So much harm caused to Black communities and this clearly showcases how and why — and why there’s always deflection + defensiveness and rarely accountability," he added.
