A video of a man on social media has blown up after he said that some straight men can be, and are, attracted to "trans women who haven't had bottom surgery." He is a certified sex therapist.

Dr. Joe Kort, the man in the video, is the founding director of the Center for Relationship Health. He has a webpage and his own podcast, Smart Sex, Smart Love.

The video, uploaded by the well-known social media account Libs of TikTok, shows Kort explaining that "some straight men are attracted to trans women who haven't had bottom surgery." Full bottom surgery, in the case of men, is the surgical removal of the penis and testes in combination with a vaginoplasty.

He said that this is confusing to some women who think that straight men are only attracted to biological women. Women may end up thinking the man is not "100 percent straight."

Kort said that this concern doesn't make sense because trans women "are still women."

"Trans women are women. They are female," Kort added.

Kort expanded on the specific attractions a straight man would have to a trans woman. He said, "The attraction for her is from the waist up, but it can also be from the waist down and they can experience pleasure playing with that person from the waist down."

"[T]hat act, again, doesn't indicate a sexual orientation." Kort said. "It indicates an attraction to the person. To the woman. The trans woman."

Kort explained further that these straight men are attracted to gender fluidity in particular and not just the feminine features of a biological woman. He compared this attraction to the attraction gay men feel towards trans men who have also not had bottom surgery.

"That doesn't make them bi. It doesn't make them straight," he concluded.

Some of Kort's recent podcast episodes include, "Master Arch: The humanity of the Findom Fetish," where he interviews Master Arch, "a fetish worker" and "fetish creator."

Another interview he held was with another sex therapist named Martha Kauppi. The two discussed how to have "beautifully functioning open relationships."
