CNN's Jake Tapper BLASTED over book about Biden's decline, cover-up: 'You covered it up'

After CNN host Jake Tapper announced the upcoming release of his and Alex Thompson's book "Original Sin" which reports to show a cover-up of former President Joe Biden's mental decline, many have accused Tapper of engaging in the "cover-up" himself, citing clips from when he defended Biden previously from attacks on his mental state and age. 

On Wednesday, Tapper announced the book and wrote, "ORIGINAL SIN, now available for pre-order ... from Penguin Press. Been working hard on this with Alex Thompson, from interviews with more than 200 WH insiders, Dem leaders, and more."

The post has gotten a lot of negative feedback, only getting a little over 1,300 likes but over 10,000 comments. The post was seen over 5 million times as of Thursday morning.

Backlash against him ensued, with previous clips getting dug up from accounts on X. Libs of TikTok posted a clip in response to Tapper's announcement where Tapper said that Lara Trump could not possibly diagnose Biden's "mental decline" and did not have "any standing" to say that Biden was in decline.

Podcaster Shawn Farash responded to Tapper, "You... literally YOU covered the cognitive decline up until you couldn't anymore after the June 27th debate. As if Joe Biden suddenly got old and lost his mind overnight. Remember 'Cheap Fakes?' We all do. You covered it up Jake."

Frontlines' Savanah Hernandez, also posted a video of herself confronting Tapper as well as other CNN hosts, and said they had been "lying to the American public about the mental decline of Joe Biden."

Hernandez posted with the clip, "Last year I asked Jake Tapper why he & CNN were lying to the American public about Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. They all rolled their eyes and ignored my question. Jake Tapper is now publishing a book 'exposing the cover up' of Joe Biden’s mental decline."

Editor-in-Chief of the Federalist, Mollie Hemingway, wrote in a post, "Was just thinking about another enraging thing about Jake Tapper's 'If I Did It' rewrite of his own history covering up the Biden decline."

"Unlike 2017-2020, when the media begged everyone to run against incumbent Trump, and promoted every GOP and third party challenge to Trump, they never pushed for a challenge to Biden and went to war against -- or far worse, kept hidden -- anyone who was perceived as a Democrat or Third Party threat to Biden," she added.

A compilation of different video clips of Tapper saying that Biden is "sharp" as well as defending Biden from those who questioned his decline during the presidency.
