The Biden-Harris administration is simultaneously suing the tech giant under antitrust law.
According to Fox News, the Trump campaign said that Karen Dunn, the defense lawyer for Google who is working on the team defending the tech giant against a lawsuit from the Biden-Harris administration, is also working to prepare Harris for her debate against Trump at the same time.
The antitrust lawsuit, United States v. Google LLC, is aimed at the company's digital advertising practices and the trial is set for Sept. 9, the day before the debate between Trump and Harris on ABC News. Dunn is Google's outside counsel through the law firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and is listed as a "lead attorney" for the case.
"Kamala Harris will never stand up to Big Tech because she’s being coached on what to say in the debates by Google’s top lawyer," Trump campaign adviser Tim Murtaugh said. "Think about how outrageous it is — their administration is suing Google, but Harris is taking political advice from the defendant’s lawyer."
"Any first-year law student knows that’s a conflict of interest," he added. "But it’s not surprising because Big Tech and the Biden-Harris White House have been conspiring to censor and trample the rights of law-abiding citizens since they gained power."
Murtaugh added that the Harris camp doesn't "even try to hide their cozy relationship" and that it is all out for the public to see. Murtaugh pointed it out to multiple outlets last month when Dunn joined the Harris campaign. "Some prosecutor she is," Murtaugh said about Harris. "She's being coached by the defendant's lawyer."
Harris has now made attempts to change the rules of the debate, wanting it to be seated and to be able to have notes to go along with the debate. The Trump camp has hit back, saying that Harris agreed to the rules set by the debate agreed on by Trump and Biden when he was still in the race.
