Matt Walsh fools anti-white author Robin DiAngelo in new Daily Wire film ‘Am I Racist?’

Walsh followed the formula for What is a Woman?, in which he asked every day Americans, African tribesmen, political leaders and academics that seemingly simple question only to get baffling answers. In Am I Racist?, a Digital Astronaut production of a Justin Folk film, Walsh speaks to a similar cohort, including many individuals who have gone viral on social media for their hatred of white people, such as Saira Rao, who holds dinner parties for white women, at thousands of dollars per plate, to tell them they cannot distance themselves from "the bad white people."

He was able to go undercover by wearing his hair long, parted in the middle and bunned at the back, along with a leftist uniform of skinny jeans and a blazer, in order words a departure from his usual plaid flannel and normal-fitting pants. In the interview with DiAngelo, she even asks who he is, saying that they "have to be careful." It's an amazing exemplar of how easy it is to fool someone who believes that appearances literally are everything.

The question of just who is racist and what constitutes racism has morphed over recent years. No longer is racism considered that which is obviously and overtly racist, but new levels and kinds of racism have been identified, such as microaggressions, or unconscious bias, or just being white. Rep. Jasmine Crockett recently said in the House of Representatives that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was racist in pointing out her fake eyelashes. Other lawmakers have said Presidents' Day is racist.

Walsh digs into all of this, which hit a crisis moment in 2020 during the George Floyd Covid riots that began 10 weeks into pandemic lockdown with the firecracker point of the death of Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.

During the 2020 election season, Joe Biden claimed that if black people didn't vote for him then they "ain't black," and in 2024, with newly installed candidate for president Kamala Harris, that rhetoric will only increase. Already, MSNBC pundit Joy Reid has claimed that any person of color who doesn't vote for Harris is "crazy," while Morning Joe hosts claimed that it's racist to mispronounce Kamala's name. Academics such as Ibram Kendi have made names for themselves, along with millions of dollars, by saying that all white people are basically racist in one way or another.

The film drops in theaters September 13, and it marks The Daily Wire's first original theatrical release. Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing praised the film, and Walsh's previous work, saying "What is a Woman? changed the national conversation on radical gender theory, effectively killing the issue, and DEI is the next pillar of the woke mind virus that’s about to topple. DEI culture is one of the most toxic plagues in American life and Matt Walsh and Justin Folk have masterfully and hilariously exposed it in this movie."

The film What is a Woman was titled on a question that many women's rights activists, biologists, conservatives, and people familiar with reality had been asking to those who claimed that men can be women if they claim to be. In the wake of the film, which brought the questioning further into the mainstream public forum, the question has hit Congress, with many asking witnesses in House hearings what a woman is. Former New York City mayoral candidate Maya Wiley recently said that a "woman is a person who says she is."

"We want the film to reach every corner of America," Boreing continued, "not just The Daily Wire’s core audience or political conservatives, and I truly believe with a nationwide theatrical release this film has the power to be the final nail in the coffin of the DEI and the so-called ‘antiracism’ movements."
