Kathy Hochul, who has served as Lieutenant Governor under the departing Andrew Cuomo, has said that among her first tasks in the executive office are plans to "get the money out," including money which will be given to illegal immigrants, and those renters and landlords in need of assistance.

Hochul, who is next in line for the office after the resignation of New York State Gov. Andrew Cuomo, also said that she would make sure to release all relevant data as regards Cuomo's disastrous nursing home policy, for which he was under investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James' office. James also released a damning report concluding that there was a preponderance of evidence that Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women. Cuomo's final date in office will be August 24, 2021.

"I have to tell ya, on Day 1, I am focused on COVID. We have to deal with the fact that the rates are rising. I want to get money out to people," Hochul told Fox News.

"We have way too much money sitting there that should be going to renters, the landlords who are suffering," Hochil said. "And I also want to get the money out for the excluded worker program where people who are immigrants aren’' getting any money because they aren’t documented and that money is sitting there unspent."

When asked about if she would allow access to her email to prove that she had no previous awareness of Cuomo's alleged improprieties with his female staffers, Hochul responded:

"It's hard to prove a negative because I've had no communication along those lines. But I believe in transparency and we’ll evaluate all of those requests. But it is no secret that the governor and I were not close."

"But I did support the legacy of progressive accomplishments which are outstanding," Hochul said, "and my role as lieutenant governor is not to be in those rooms or spend much time in the capital – but to really be out speaking to New Yorkers and championing issues like childcare, paid family leave and higher wages. And I’m going to continue doing that."

In March 2021, Cuomo had claimed he was never going to resign, and continues to maintain that his Italian culture has been misinterpreted as harassment.
