El-Sayed, who is cited as the primary author in the paper called "Interethnic mating and risk for preterm birth among Arab-American mothers: Evidence from the Arab-American Birth Outcomes Study," looked into the negative outcome of "preterm birth" (PTB) when people of different ethnicities and races have kids together, specifically for Arab mothers having children with non-Arab fathers.
The paper claimed, "Genetic factors have been the primary explanation posited for the association between interracial mating (black father, white mother) and risk of adverse birth outcomes. This explanation has built on the well-recognized observation that black race is associated with increased risk for PTB after adjusting for potential medical, psychosocial, and behavioral confounders."
The concluding statement of the abstract called on others to perform other studies to look into the risks of having "interethnic mating" as well. "Future studies could assess the causal mechanisms underlying the association between interethnic mating and risk for PTB," El-Sayed and the other researchers wrote.
The study found that "interethnic mating was associated with higher risk for PTB and late PTB among Arab-Americans, a growing ethnic group" and then said that "studies about the birth outcomes of Hispanic interethnic couples are needed."
National Republican Senatorial Committee Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez told The Post Millennial regarding El-Sayed's research: “It’s ironic that a radical Muslim with documented ties to designated terrorist organizations is scared of interracial mating. Does Abdul El-Sayed stand by his racist fearmongering?"
Commentator Will Chamberlain commented, "No wonder he was so nasty to Usha Vance. The very concept of brown women marrying white men infuriates him."
El-Sayed has claimed multiple times that he is a “physician” but has previously admitted that he was only “cosplaying a doctor” as he has done his medical work. El-Sayed attended the University of Michigan Medical School and got his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Despite that, reporting has shown that he never got his medical license in either New York—where he got his education—or in Michigan.
