Just one day after dropping out and endorsing Donald J. Trump for president, Ron DeSantis took to X to take a eyebrow-raising swipe at the GOP frontrunner. Trump was just taking the stage in Laconia, NH, when DeSantis posted the following on X:

"But not the Florida Republican who wields the veto pen…" the Florida Governor posted in response to a Politico report entitled "Some Florida Republicans want taxpayers to pay Trump's legal bills."

This comes just a day after DeSantis suspended his own campaign for the White House, amid multiple failures and flubs.

Amidst discussions among some Florida Republicans about allocating millions of taxpayer dollars to support Trump's legal battles, a Miami Republican supporting Trump's reelection has introduced a bill proposing up to $5 million in state funds for the former president's legal defense.

The bill is unlikely to pass and most likely will die in committee.

Throughout his failed campaign, DeSantis was not known for engaging in Twitter banter, or using his social media presence to engage in personal jabs, but in an unusually snarky tweet from his personal account, Ron DeSantis gleefully announced he would veto a bill in the unlikely event it came across his desk.

DeSantis endorsed Trump after suspending his underperforming campaign on Sunday, stating:

"It's clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Donald Trump another chance," he said. "They watch his presidency gets stymied by relentless resistance, and they see Democrats using lawfare to this day to attack him. While, I've had disagreements with Donald Trump, such as on the Coronavirus pandemic and his elevation of Anthony Fauci, Trump is superior to the current incumbent Joe Biden. That is clear.

"I signed a pledge to support the Republican nominee and I will honor that pledge is my endorsement because we can't go back to the old Republican guard of yesteryear, or repackage formed of warmed over corporatism that Nikki Haley represents. The days of putting Americans last of kowtowing to large corporations, of caving to woke ideology are over."

As DeSantis swiped at Trump, the 45th president addressed an energetic crown in New Hampshire on the eve of the primary in that state, the first primary in the nation.
