"You think he was a good guy...Even though he said things that are anti-women, anti-black, all that?" said Lemon.
However, the woman maintained her stance, emphasizing basic humanity for a Christian man who was killed by a cold-blooded assassin while he was debating college students.
The dialogue unfolded as follows:
Lemon: "What do you think about what happened to Charlie Kirk?"
Woman: "It's just messed up. Totally messed up...He definitely didn't deserve that. He was a good guy."
Lemon: "You think he was a good guy?"
Woman: "I think he was. He had good morals...All of us have flaws. I can't really tell you what to believe in or how to feel. Everyone is having a human experience. Why knock him for having a human experience or what he believed in?"
Lemon: "Even though he said things that are anti-women, anti-black, all that?"
Woman: "I can't judge him for that."
Lemon: "You can't?"
Woman: "I can use judgment. He didn't deserve that."
Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on September 10 during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. The 22-year-old accused assassin, Tyler Robinson, faces capital murder charges.
Conservative critics have accused legacy media of amplifying vile rhetoric about Republicans from Democratic officials and pundits, suggesting media networks are directly responsible, in part, for Kirk's assassination.
Don Lemon came under fire a few days ago for giving uninterrupted airtime to comedian DL Hughley, who called Kirk a "horrible human being" while discussing Kirk's death. Additionally, Lemon previously mocked First Lady Melania Trump for expressing grief over the 2024 assassination attempts on President Trump's life.
