"He's being held out to be the antithesis of who he actually is. And that is utterly shocking."
Doug Emhoff's ex-girlfriend has publicly confirmed the allegations that he slapped her in the face with such force that she spun around. The two were at a 2012 celebrity event in France when the incident occurred, the woman exclusively told the Daily Mail.
That former girlfriend, who prefers to remain anonymous, came forward after Emhoff denied the slapping incident ever happened.
“What's frightening for a woman that's been on the other end of it, is watching this completely fabricated persona being portrayed,” Jane said, referring to how Democratic-supporting media have depicted the second gentleman as being supportive of women. The Washington Post has called him a “modern day sex symbol” and he sat for a hagiographic interview with MSNBC host and former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki where he presented himself as a “wife guy.”
“He's being held out to be the antithesis of who he actually is. And that is utterly shocking,” Emhoff's former girlfriend said. Emhoff has admitted that he cheated on his first wife by having an affair with his daughter’s nanny, Najen Naylor. That confession received a minimum of coverage from mainstream media outlets apparently too enamored of Enhoff the “wife guy” who is a “modern day sex symbol.”
Emhoff continues to deny the slapping incident and said in a statement through a spokesperson on Oct. 3 that “this report is untrue,” and that “any suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman is false.” Emhoff also continues to portray himself as a proto-feminist as he is interviewed by friendly media outlets. “Every time I see Doug on TV portraying the persona of a perfect spouse and non-toxic man, I wonder if Najen is watching too and feeling as disgusted as I am,” Jane told the Mail.
She said she met Emhoff in 2012. He went on to marry now-Vice President Kamala Harris in 2014. “I was living in New York, and Doug was living in Los Angeles,” Jane told the Mail. “I met him on Match.com.” Emhoff and Harris were later set up by a mutual ABC exec friend with whom the pair are still close.
She said she should have wondered about Emhoff’s approach to life when he invited his son to join the two of them on their first date. “It was an odd request for a first date, but I also felt bad that his son was walking around the city waiting for his dad to finish his Match.com date. So I agreed. In retrospect, it should have been a red flag.”
Colleagues from his former law firm have also spoken about Emhoff being “misogynistic” and hiring attractive but unqualified staff that he flirted with.
