The Ontario government is expected to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour, according to Global News.

The current minimum wage in Ontario is $14.35. This hike is expected to occur on New Year's Day. After this, the government will raise the minimum wage every year in October so that it corresponds to Trudeau's whopping inflation.

Under Trudeau, Canada's inflation has grown to a startling 4.4 percent. The Bank of Canada has said that they expect this to grow to 5 percent.

It is unclear whether the Bank of Canada will raise interest rates to cool down this inflation.

Bartenders will also see their minimum wage raised to $15 from their current $12 minimum. Despite this, Canada's socially enforced tipping requirements will almost certainly stay in place.

Before Premier Ford won the 2018 election, Kathleen Wynne's Liberal Party pledged to raise the minimum wage to $15 but Ford cancelled this when he came into office.

Once in office, Ford did decide to go forward with a minimum wage raise in 2018, where it was hiked to $14.
