An account on X called “EBT of TikTok” has gone viral for compiling social media clips of users threatening violence and theft amid the ongoing government shutdown, which is set to temporarily suspend SNAP benefits.

The videos feature numerous users expressing anger and fear over the pause in the federal food assistance program, which supports more than 40 million Americans. Several have posted videos threatening to loot stores or steal food once their benefits stop. One woman declared it was “time to start looting” because the government “took our stampssss.”

Another user mocked those saying “God will provide,” telling them to “shut the f*ck up” and “let that dumb sh*t go.”

Even rapper Cardi B joined the discussion, posting a seven-minute video where she lamented the suspension of SNAP, claiming that people were “gonna have to hunt raccoons n’ sh*t” for Thanksgiving dinner.

Many online have blamed President Donald Trump directly, falsely claiming he personally ordered the removal of benefits. In reality, the suspension stems from the ongoing government shutdown, which has persisted as Senate Democrats refuse to sign a clean resolution proposed by Republicans.

The US Department of Agriculture announced last week that payments would not be issued on November 1, marking the first time in history that the program has been interrupted due to a shutdown. The current closure has become the second-longest on record and is on track to become the longest.

According to NBC News, a USDA spokesperson commented, "We are approaching an inflection point for Senate Democrats."

"Continue to hold out for healthcare for illegals or reopen the government so mothers, babies, and the most vulnerable among us can receive timely WIC and SNAP allotments," the spokesperson added.
