Following a two-hour-long interview with former President Donald Trump on X, CEO Elon Musk extended an invitation to Vice President Kamala Harris to join him for an interview on the platform. Musk posted on his social media platform after the interview Monday night, “Happy to host Kamala on an X Spaces too.”

Harris has not held or scheduled a single interview since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and she was nominated in his place three weeks ago.

However, following Trump’s interview with Musk which garnered over 23 million views, Kamala's campaign released a statement on "whatever that was" that said, "Donald Trump's extremism and dangerous. Project 2025 agenda is a feature not a glitch of his campaign, which was on full display for those unlucky enough to listen in tonight during whatever that was on X.com."

The statement continued, “Trump's entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself - self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024.”

Kamala's campaign asked supporters to “chip in $25 now," claiming that Musk was attempting to seize “control” of “our democracy” by hosting Trump on X.

The Harris-Walz campaign wrote in the fundraising email, “It’s not enough that Musk has pledged to donate millions of dollars to help reelect Trump. He’s using his purchased platform –— one of the largest social media sites in the world — to spread Trump’s unhinged and hateful agenda to millions of users.”

During the interview, Trump called the Democratic presidential nominee a “third-rate phony candidate” and “more incompetent” than Biden. "She's incompetent, and he (Biden) is incompetent. And frankly, I think that she's more incompetent than he is, and that's saying something because he's not too good.”

Trump speculated that Kamala would never sit down for an interview with Musk and slammed Harris over the “coup” on Biden. “This was a coup. This was a coup of a president of the United States. He didn't want to leave.” Trump claimed Democrats told Biden he could go out the “nice way” or the “hard way.”

Musk added in reference to Biden, “They just took him out back behind the shed and basically shot him.”

Trump slammed Harris in her role as the “border czar," noting she's been weak on the security she was tasked with ensuring. “You see what happened with these people, Kamala and Joe. You see what happened. They just let it go. I had remained in Mexico policies.”

Trump also criticized Harris on her copying his proposal to have a no tax on tips policy. “She's making a speech to say there will be no tax on tips. I said that months ago,” referencing Harris’ announcement for the initiative as part of her campaign at a stop in Las Vegas and was immediately called out for copying Trump.
