Two EMTs were dispatched to a location in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn, at around 2:40 am on Saturday morning, where they were robbed at gunpoint.

It appears that the call itself was faked with the intention of carrying out the crime against the EMTs.

The first responders were in an elevator when it stopped at the building's sixth floor and a man with a firearm already drawn was waiting for them.

According to local outlet PIX11, they were then divested of their personal property, although what was taken has not been made known to the public as of this writing.

The suspect then punched all the buttons on the elevator and took off down the stairs.

The incident is strikingly similar to another incident that occurred this past Monday, in which two volunteer EMTs were robbed in a similar fashion in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Brownsville.

They were robbed in the elevator and their radios, medical kits and a tablet were taken. The suspect also pushed all the buttons in the elevator to facilitate his getaway in the same fashion as in the previous incident.

The two had been dispatched to the location pursuant to a 911 call where a person said that their child was having trouble breathing, but it appears that the call was fraudulent and possibly was made in furtherance of the robbery.

Authorities are investigating both crimes, and urge anybody with any information to call the NYPD.
