“Glory to our martyrs, and death to America! Death to this imperialist system, and freedom for all our prisoners, and freedom for all of Palestine and freedom for all of Lebanon and freedom for all of the Arab region, and freedom for Palestine from the river to the sea!”
Bissan Barghouti, the leader of the Seattle chapter of the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, who was formerly with the ACLU, told the cheering crowd, “Glory to our martyrs, and death to America! Death to this imperialist system, and freedom for all our prisoners, and freedom for all of Palestine and freedom for all of Lebanon and freedom for all of the Arab region, and freedom for Palestine from the river to the sea!”
Sunday’s event was the culmination of "Al-Aqsa Flood Month of Action," named after the terrorist operation that murdered, raped & tortured over 1,200 civilians on Oct 7, 2023, and kidnapped over 250 more. Anti-Israel activists in the Pacific Northwest used materials created by Hamas to celebrate the atrocities, while over 100 hostages remain in captivity, including Americans.
Another speaker said that the Oct 7 atrocities marked the “dignity, liberation and return for the Palestinian people and all colonized people.” She also chanted “Long live the resistance,” referencing Hamas, and added, “Long live October 7th!"
Samidoun, one of the groups that organized the event, has been banned in Germany for its support of terrorist organizations, including Hamas. The radical activists advocate for the release of convicted terrorists and are affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a terrorist organization.
During Sunday’s event, pro-terror activists called for the release of Ahmad Sa’adat, the head of the PFLP, who sits in an Israeli prison for his role in planning the assassination of Israel’s former tourism minister. The Seattle chapter of the terror-affiliated organization helped organize the first rally for Hamas at the University of Washington, days after the Oct 7 attacks, was involved in blockading the I-5 freeway in downtown Seattle on Jan 6, and interrupted a Democratic fundraising event in Seattle featuring former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Last weekend, pro-Hamas activists in Seattle waved flags of terrorist organizations, wore Hamas and PFLP shirts and headbands, and praised the Oct 7 attackers while calling for an armed uprising against the Jewish state. Students were seen wearing Hamas shirts and headbands. Many of the same social media accounts that are promoting the walkout promoted the terrorist rally on Saturday.
Earlier this year, the city of Sea-Tac dismissed charges against 46 anti-Israeli activists who blocked a freeway leading to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for three hours and delayed flights.
According to a website created by pro-Hamas groups, students at the University of Washington, as well as Marxist, Socialist, and other radical groups, spent the month honoring “the sacrifices of our heroic martyrs and uplift the victory of Al-Aqsa Flood" with "events, teach-ins, marches" in the "lead up to a mass mobilization on October 13" to "show the ruling elites that the PNW stands with the Palestinian Resistance."
