In the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Moscow, American intelligence officials have issued a cautionary bulletin warning individuals to be careful while attending large gatherings in the US.

The bulletin, released by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), specifically highlights the potential for violence targeting mass gatherings, such as sports stadiums, concert venues, and places of worship. Concerns have also been raised regarding the upcoming solar eclipse scheduled for April 8, which is expected to draw millions of spectators outdoors.

The warning follows the deadly attack at a concert venue in the Moscow area on March 22, which claimed the lives of at least 144 people and left over 550 injured. ISIS later claimed responsibility for the assault, celebrating the mass casualties.

According to the bulletin, ISIS has encouraged its followers to carry out similar attacks in Western countries such as the US, intelligence officials worry that ISIS operatives or “lone wolves” may execute an attack on American soil in the coming days.

The warning issued by U.S. intelligence mirrors a prior cautionary advisory from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, which warned American citizens prior to the Moscow attack to avoid large gatherings due to intelligence indicating "imminent plans" by extremists to target mass gatherings in the Russian capital.

US officials have continuously voiced concerns in recent days that terrorist groups may seek to increase efforts to carry out attacks either in the country or against American citizens abroad. Senator Tom Cotton voiced these concerns recently, expressing that he is "deeply worried that ISIS from Afghanistan will end up targeting Americans sooner rather than later."

"We have millions of Americans who live or who travel abroad throughout Europe and Asia, embassies, businesses there, so I'm deeply worried that ISIS from Afghanistan will end up targeting Americans sooner rather than later," Cotton said.
