"This was demonic. What he did was demonic," said Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.
A man in Florida, with ties to MS-13, has now been charged with murder in the killing and dismemberment of an Uber Eats driver who had brought food to the assailant’s home. The delivery was supposed to be the driver’s last delivery of the night.
Oscar Solis Jr. has been charged with killing Randall Cooke during a delivery on Wednesday. The horrific event reportedly took place in Holiday, Florida, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco said during a press conference. The report indicated that Cooke’s remains were discovered in the house, loaded into trash bags and coolers. His wedding ring was also discovered, per the Daily Mail.
Nocco said: “This was a horrific crime of passion. This was demonic. What he did was demonic.”
It appears that Solis is facing the charge of murder while actively engaged in a robbery, as well as failing to register as a convicted felon and violating parole, per the report. Solis was reportedly a strip club security guard who moved to Florida in January, when he was paroled after serving a total of four years in prison in Indiana for assault and burglary, per the New York Post.
Solid was allegedly involved with the MS-13 gang in Indiana, according to the authorities, who had previously been charged with resisting arrest and stabbing a fellow inmate while in prison.
“You’re talking about a violent individual that Indiana released and sent down to Florida,” Nocco said.
He continued: “Unfortunately, now we have a hardworking guy, a loving husband, who is no longer with us because this violent individual killed him.”
Cooke’s stepdaughter Melany Dzoba characterized him as “the most perfect man” and companion to her mother, according to an interview with WFTS news station.
“[He was] such a happy guy. I mean, we all go through our ups and downs. We’re all still human, but he just — he was always just so happy and just trying to have fun and laugh — all the time.”
No motive has yet to be established by the authorities. A GoFundMe was kicked off two days ago, which has raised $32,000 thus far.
