On September 6, a former teacher at Point of Grace Christian highschool in Perry, Florida was arrested after allegedly twerking on a male student during a prom event in April.

39-year-old Julie Hoover now faces a felony charge of "an authority figure soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct with a student" and a misdemeanor charge for "contributing to the delinquency of a minor."

According to WCTV, Hoover allegedly approached the student during prom on April 8 and pressured him to drink alcohol that had been stored in the back room for staff to enjoy after the event. The student alleged that at one point, she even went so far as "forcing the straw from her cup into his mouth."

The student went on to explain that Hoover began "twerking" on him, and refused to stop even when his peers tried to separate the two. He described the experience as "uncomfortable."

Point of Grace said in a statement that the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office had informed them of the allegations, and that the school has "cooperated with the investigation."

This is not the first time the former teacher has been arrested for her conduct with students. In June, a student’s mother discovered "explicit" text messages between her son and Hoover, and called the sheriff.

Hoover was subsequently arrested and charged with "soliciting sex with a student," however she was released the next day on a $15,000 bond.

According to the allegations, Hoover and the 18-year-old student had texted regularly between March and April of 2022, and at one point she arranged for him to come to her house while her husband was at work.
