Former President Trump congratulates Georgia on passage of voting reform bill

“Too bad these changes could not have been done sooner!”

After Big Tech stripped former President Trump of his various social media accounts, more recently he has taken to sending out formal press releases of his tweets.

Today he commented on the situation in Georgia with the passage of a new voting reform bill that was signed by Governor Brian Kemp.

“Congratulations to Georgia and the Georgia State Legislature on changing their voter Rules and Regulations. They learned from the travesty of the 2020 Presidential Election, which can never be allowed to happen again. Too bad these changes could not have been done sooner!”

This is in stark contrast to the statement released today by President Biden. He called the new Georgia voting regulations “Jim Crow in the 21st Century,” implying the added rules were racist. Specifically Biden went after voting hours, restrictions on absentee ballots, and making “it a crime to provide water to voters while they wait in line.”

This shouldn’t be confused with Biden calling the filibuster process “a relic of the Jim Crow era,” even though it was recently reported Biden supported the filibuster as recently as 2005.

However what the President glossed over about SB 202 is that it adds: a telephone hotline on election fraud, expansions for poll officers, and allows for advance voting, which easily answers the concerns surrounding absentee voting mentioned by Biden.

Things like Voter ID and shortening the time for runoff elections from nine weeks to four weeks are being targeted by Georgia State officials given the tumultuous impasse between November 2020 and January 2021.

Not all politicians wanted a smooth passage of the bill, however. In the case of Representative Park Cannon (D-Atlanta), she was arrested for disrupting a General Assembly session and tried getting in the way of Governor Brian Kemp signing the bill.
