Frank Pavone says Catholic bishops are ‘afraid to offend’ powerful Democrats

"I'm talking about their friends in high places," Pavone said, "whether it's members of Congress or leaders of the Democrat Party. They're Democrat loyalists, a lot of them … and they don't want pushback from them."

Father Frank Pavone has refused to back down in his fight to protect the lives of the unborn, despite being dismissed from priesthood by the Vatican.

Pavone, who serves as National Director of Priests for Life and is an ardent and vocal Trump supporter, recently called out many bishops within the Catholic Church for softening their pro-life message out of fears it might "offend" Democrats.

In an interview with FOX News, Pavone suggested he was fighting "for the soul of the Catholic Church," and that putting an end to abortion was priority number one.

"We're side by side with the Holy See in doing this pro-life work," Pavone said, noting that many high-placed members of the Vatican have given him "tremendous support."

Others, he lamented, "have really been doing everything they can to put obstacles in the way of this work and of my doing this work."

He suggested that his detractors don't like the fact that he openly advocates for pro-life political candidates, noting that he has become "the most influential Catholic pro-life voice" in the United States.

"I'm talking about their friends in high places," Pavone said, "whether it's members of Congress or leaders of the Democrat Party. They're Democrat loyalists, a lot of them … and they don't want pushback from them."

Earlier this month, Pavone was dismissed from priesthood by the Vatican over a "blasphemous" tweet he sent out excoriating then-presidential candidate Joe Biden. The repeated use of the word "goddamn" and "loser" were enough for the Church to discipline him.

"To think a piece of paper from the Vatican can stop me from defending the #unborn is like thinking a piece of paper from the Supreme Court can take away their dignity," Pavone tweeted in response.

He has continued to take aim at members of the Biden administration who claim to be Catholic but continue to support abortion and other practices that go against the teachings of the Church.
