The fundraiser for the White family reached more than $80,000 on Saturday after people across the country came together to donate towards medical costs following the horrific shooting attack on 6-year-old Kinsley White and her father, William White, in North Carolina on Thursday.

Suspect Robert Louis Singletary, 24, opened fire on a group of children and their families after becoming "enraged" over a stray basketball in Gaston County, North Carolina. William White was struck by a bullet in the back as he was shielding children, and attempting to get them to safety. He is currently recovering in the hospital. His daughter Kinsley, 6, was struck in the face. Singletary was their neighbor.

Human Events Daily host Jack Posobiec shared the heartwarming news on Twitter on Saturday, and encouraged his followers to continue donating.

Neighbors who spoke with local media outlets described Singletary as new to the neighborhood and known for getting upset with local children. William had become aware of other alleged run-ins with Singletary, which is why he ran down to protect his daughter.

According to law enforcement officials, this is not Singletary's first run-in with the law. In December 2022, he was accused of hitting his girlfriend in the head with a mini-sledgehammer and was later let out on bond for that case.

Singletary has been charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to police documents.

Donations to the family can be made here.
