"All options are on the table when it comes to winning back control of the House."
Speaking with Punchbowl News, Jeffries said in response to questions on whether the party would attempt mid-decade redistricting in blue states like New York or Illinois in response to redistricting attempts in Texas and Ohio, "All options are on the table when it comes to winning back control of the House."
Jeffries said that Democrats plan to hold rallies, marches, and town hall events in GOP districts across the nation. The New York Democrat said he plans to visit districts in New York, New Jersey, and California, as well as in the Midwest.
He said regarding the One Big Beautiful Bill that was signed into law on July 4, "That vote will haunt them and we’re gonna tattoo their support for the One Big Ugly Law on the forehead of every single vulnerable House Republican in America."
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in April identified at least 35 House Republicans to target in the midterm elections. Among those on the list are Reps. Eli Crane, Cory Mills, Anna Paulina Luna, and Andy Ogles. The Republican Party won back the House in 2024, as well as the Senate.
As the Big Beautiful Bill worked its way through Congress, Trump suggested that those GOP House members who voted against the bill would be primaried.
Trump said at the time, "This is bigger than any Ronald Reagan tax cut. It's even bigger than the tax cut that I gave, because, as you know, that's being extended and increased. So this is the biggest tax cut in the history of our country, or you'll get a 68 percent tax increase. And if that happens, I mean, what Republican could vote for that to happen? Because they wouldn't be a Republican much longer. They would be knocked out so fast," Trump added, suggesting they could be voted out of their positions in the House.
