The Justice Department has published a list of all sanctuary jurisdictions from around the country that have laws or other policies that impede federal authorities in carrying out immigration enforcement.

Sanctuary policies impede law enforcement and put American citizens at risk by design,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi said. “The Department of Justice will continue bringing litigation against sanctuary jurisdictions and work closely with the Department of Homeland Security to eradicate these harmful policies around the country."

The move from the DOJ was sparked by Executive Order 14287, signed by Trump on April 28. The order "directed the Justice Department, in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security, to publish a list of" sanctuary jurisdictions around the United States. The list is broken down by states, counties, and cities:

The Trump administration has made it a priority to file lawsuits against sanctuary jurisdictions as the president has been implementing a crackdown on illegal immigration nationwide. Some cities that have been forced to comply with federal immigration law, including Louisville, Kentucky, where the mayor agreed to revoke the sanctuary policies after the DOJ sent a letter to the official informing him that the DOJ may take legal action.

The list is not exhaustive and will be updated as necessary, the DOJ noted in a press release on the topic. Some other jurisdictions the DOJ has taken legal action against over sanctuary city policies include Los Angeles and New York City.
