A woman in Minneapolis was pulled from her vehicle Tuesday by federal agents after she allegedly impeded an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation during a protest. This comes after Renee Good, an ICE Watch activist in Minneapolis, was fatally shot after she rammed an ICE agent with her vehicle, which she had used to block the street.
Video from the scene shows the driver positioning her car perpendicular across the roadway to allegedly block ICE vehicles from passing and carrying out enforcement duties. Large crowds of shouting protesters surrounded the area as agents attempted to clear the street and approach the vehicle. Agents were then seen smashing the passenger-side window while people nearby yelled at the driver to begin moving.
An Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agent appeared to unlock the driver’s door, allowing another agent to pull the woman from the car. Protesters grew increasingly unruly, blowing whistles in an apparent attempt to disrupt the arrest and shouting phrases such as “That’s so f*cked up” and “All you do is hurt.”
According to Freedom News TV, which posted the footage, the woman claimed she was trying to reach a doctor’s appointment.
Additional footage shows protesters wearing black clothing and gas masks striking federal vehicles. Agents deployed pepper spray to disperse the crowd as protesters shouted insults, including calling agents “Nazis.”
ICE ERO Acting Executive Associate Director Marcos Charles said in an interview with Fox News that at least 60 protesters have been arrested for having “impeded us or assaulted an officer.”
President Donald Trump addressed the unrest in a post on Truth Social, warning that Minnesotans would face consequences as the administration continues ICE operations in the state. “Every place we go, crime comes down. In Chicago, despite a weak and incompetent Governor and Mayor fighting us all the way, a big improvement was made. Thousands of Criminals were removed!” Trump wrote. “Minnesota Democrats love the unrest that anarchists and professional agitators are causing.”
The escalation in protests follows the death of Renee Good, an anti-ICE activist who was shot on January 7 by a federal agent after allegedly blocking traffic with her car and then driving in the direction of ICE agents. Authorities have said that “tens of thousands” of demonstrators have attended rallies and marches since the incident.
Left-wing groups in Minnesota have also been actively coaching activists on how to disrupt ICE operations, including instructing them to blow whistles to interfere with arrests and advising them on how to speak to the media in ways that portray ICE negatively.
