US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted an operation last month in Minneapolis, targeting illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes. At least 11 illegal imigrants were taken into custody as a result of the operation that took place between June 6 and June 11. The majority of the subjects engaged in sex crimes against children, according to a press release from the Department of Homeland Security.

"These pedophiles and sex offenders are the sickos our brave ICE law enforcement are putting their lives on the line to arrest and remove from American communities," said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "Governor Walz and his fellow sanctuary politicians are fighting to keep these sex offenders and other criminal illegal aliens in our country. Instead of comparing ICE to the Nazi-Gestapo, Governor Walz should be thanking our law enforcement for removing these pedophiles from Minnesota."

DHS shared images of the apprehended migrants, as well as their criminal convictions. The following individuals were taken into ICE custody:

Pao Angelo Vang, of Laos, who was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child.

Thong Lao, of Laos, who was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child.

Tou Pao Lee, of Thailand, who was convicted of soliciting a minor.

Va Vang, of Laos, who was convicted of first-degree sexual assault.

Xiong Pao Vang, of Laos, who was convicted of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14.

Yee Shae, of Thailand, who was convicted of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Yia Xiong, of Laos, who was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Pok Vue, of Laos, who was convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Hue Nai Cheng, of Laos, who was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Vang Neng Lao, of Laos, was convicted of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Dao Moua, of Laos, who was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The arrests come as the Trump administration increases immigration enforcement operations in self-declared sanctuary jurisdictions, targeting the "worst-of-the-worst" first. According to DHS, 70 percent of ICE arrests are of criminal illegal aliens with convictions or pending charges.

"Secretary Noem unleashed ICE to target the worst of the worst - including gang members, murderers, and rapists. President Trump is putting the American people first by removing illegal aliens who pose a threat to our communities," the press release states.

Members of the public can report immigration-related crimes or suspicious activity by calling (866-347-2423) or completing the online tip form.
