Incoming trans rep Sarah McBride says House GOP is a 'caucus of chaos'

"What we know is that the House Republican caucus is not known for its unity. Over the last 2 years, they have been a caucus of chaos, and they've relied on Democrats to be the responsible governing party."

Incoming transgender-identifying Representative Sarah McBride criticized House Republicans during an interview on MSNBC's The Weekend, referring to them as the "caucus of chaos." McBride claimed that the House GOP has relied on Democrats to be the “responsible governing party.”

"What we know is that the House Republican caucus is not known for its unity. Over the last 2 years, they have been a caucus of chaos, and they've relied on Democrats to be the responsible governing party,” McBride said.

McBride continued by saying that Democrats would likely continue to shoulder the burden of ensuring government functionality and “keep the lights on.” He added that Democrats must work to push back against the “dangerous” policies of the Donald Trump administration and its cabinet of “Project 2025 appointees.”

McBride, a biological man who identifies as female, has been in the public spotlight since being elected as the first transgender-identifying person to Congress. In response to McBride’s victory, Congresswoman Nancy Mace voiced opposition to the allowance of McBride to use female facilities in the US Capitol.

Mace introduced a bill aiming to prohibit biological men from accessing women’s restrooms in Congress, explicitly acknowledging that the legislation was prompted by McBride’s presence. Mace explained that she is a survivor of sexual assault and rape and emphasized  “how vulnerable women and girls are in private spaces.”

In response to Mace’s concerns, McBride dismissed the bill as a distraction, accusing it of being an attempt from "far-right wing extremists to distract from the fact that they have no real solutions to what Americans are facing."

A mental-defective freak-of-nature is deciding what 'a caucus of chaos' is! Oh, the irony.
