Jelly Roll will also guest host.
“I will be taking the next two months off, this time voluntarily,” Kimmel said on Thursday night, joking about how his show was temporarily pulled by ABC after he made comments about Charlie Kirk's assassination, claiming that the murderer was right-wing.
However, the show is set to go on, and Kimmel named off a "potent group of" guest hosts to fill in for him, including Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, and Jelly Roll.
"As a special treat for our commander in chief, I asked one of his all-time favorites — Rosie O’Donnell, to be here to keep the hits coming," Kimmel added. O'Donnell is one of the left-wing celebrities who left the US after Trump won his second term. Trump as well as "The View" alum have long had tension between one another, going back to the 2016 presidential race, when Trump was asked by Megyn Kelly about calling women pigs and slobs in a debate, he responded, "Only Rosie O'Donnell."
That tension possibly reached a head after Trump was elected and wrote in a post to Truth Social, “Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship."
“She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA," he added.
O'Donnell wrote back in an Instagram post, “The president of the usa has always hated the fact that i see him for who he is – a criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself – this is why i moved to ireland."
O'Donnell's citizenship, however, is still intact, and she will be moving back to the US for an extended stay to fill in for Kimmel.
