On Saturday night, three buses carrying migrants from Texas arrived in the nation's capital and delivered their passengers to the US Naval Observatory, where the vice president resides, reports Fox News.
The Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network assisted the border-crossers after they arrived and helped move them to a local church, according to 7News.
In a Tuesday letter to President Biden, Abbott cited the freezing winter temperatures in overwhelmed border towns like El Paso as his reason for sending migrants out of the state.
"Your policies will leave many people in the bitter, dangerous cold as a polar vortex moves into Texas," Abbott wrote to Biden. "Texas has borne a lopsided burden caused by your open border policies."
"This terrible crisis for border communities in Texas is a catastrophe of your own making. The need to address this crisis is not the job of border states like Texas,' he continued. "Instead, the U.S. Constitution dictates that it is your job, Mr. President, to defend the borders of our country, regulate our nation's immigration, and manage those who seek refuge here."
Biden's border crisis has seen a record-high number of illegal immigrants pouring into the United States month after month.
There were 2,378,944 encounters in the 2022 fiscal year. Harris was appointed by Biden in March 2021 to deal with the illegal immigration crisis. In 2021 a record number of 1,659,206 illegal immigrants crossed the southern border.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced in April that he would transport illegal immigrants out of Texas in an attempt to relieve the pressure from the overwhelmed border towns.
In September, Harris claimed on NBC's "Meet the Press" that the United States had a "secure" border and added she wants there to be a "plan for a pathway to citizenship for the millions of [illegal immigrants] who are here."
About two weeks ago, Texas sent another 30 migrants to Harris's house, reported Dallas News. On November 18, Abbott sent another 50.
In September, two more busloads made for about a hundred more migrants dropped off at the VP's home.
According to the New York Post, "Between September and October alone, at least three buses from Texas brought a total of more than 125 migrants to Harris’ doorstep."
