A trans-identified female activist has been charged with two felonies after a domestic violence assault was reported to police in Frankfort, Kentucky, with the suspect claiming the marks left on the female victim were from "rough sex."

According to the State Journal, a 911 caller reported the incident at 4:11 am on Friday morning, with the female victim having "marks from head to toe." The suspect, Selena Marie Metts, also known as "Chad Lee Metts," claimed to officers that the two had "very rough sex, which resulted in the marks."

The victim claimed to police that Metts had repeatedly punched her in the face, used a metal piece of a fan to fit her in the face, held her down, and choked her to the point of being unable to breathe. The responding officer noted that the victim had red scratch marks and bruises to her head, face, neck, breasts, and arms."

The victim wrote on social media, "It makes me sick that the his defense is 'rough sex'. We didn’t even have sex that night. These marks are not even close to rough sex. I’m going to scream this forever, I’m not going to be silent about it. He had intent on killing me that night and I’m thankful for my friend for calling. I’m beyond blessed with the friends that I have who are supportive and here. This is the same person who begged and begged and claimed they loved me and my kids so much. If they hit you once they will never stop."

Metts and the victim stated that they had both been drinking. Metts was left with scratches to Metts’ neck and arms and a busted and swollen lower lip. Two young children had been in the apartment during the incident and Child Protective Services was contacted.

Metts was charged with second-degree assault (domestic violence) and first-degree strangulation (domestic violence-related). Both counts are Class C felonies.

Metts is being held at Franklin County Regional Jail on $20,000 cash bond.

On social media, Metts posted about undergoing a medicalized transition, including a double mastectomy. In one post, Metts wrote, "Just the average 25 yr old casually wearing diapers and taking constant sitz baths bc a surgery didnt work."
