'Mainstream vs the extreme': Brandon Gill SLAMS Dems during GOP midterm convention over their 'disdain for this country'

Texas Representative Brandon Gill spoke at the Republican Party’s midterm convention in Dallas on Wednesday, emphasizing that voters in the upcoming election will have a choice between “the mainstream” and “the extreme.”

Gill began his remarks by sarcastically asking the convention to conduct a land acknowledgement, mocking the practice used at some events in which far-left organizers acknowledged past tribes that previously inhabited the land. Gill instead said Texas should be recognized as “the ancestral homeland of great American patriots, pioneers, and explorers, who put down roots, fought for freedom all over the globe, and bled and died to build the greatest civilization ever known to man.”

The Republican congressman characterized the upcoming midterm elections as a contest between mainstream values and political extremism, citing examples of radical left-wing candidates.

“This election is very clear: it’s the mainstream versus the extreme,” Gill said. Because there’s another political movement in our country right now that doesn’t believe that America is or ever was great. They sometimes call themselves ‘socialists,’ some even call themselves ‘communists,’ but most of them simply go by ‘Democrats.’”

“They’re the ones who will tell you that your love for America is nothing but bigotry, that our heritage is rooted in white supremacy, and that your Christian faith is patriarchal and needs to be dismantled,” he continued. “That’s extreme.”

Gill highlighted Democratic congressional candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier, who once posted on social media, “I forgot to get napkins so I just wiped my hand on the American flag behind me.” He then referenced a previous comment from Chevalier when she said that America is a “f*cking disgrace.”

Gill cited Democratic congressional candidate Claire Valdez, who has accused American foreign policy of promoting “white supremacy.” He also criticized Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, a self-professed Christian who has claimed that God is “non-binary” and that there are six genders.

“Every party has their crazies. The difference is that the Democratic Party is nominating them for Congress,” Gill said. “How can people who have such a transparent disdain for this country be trusted to govern it?”

“President Trump and Republicans in Congress lead with mainstream values,” Gill added. “What we need in this country is some common sense. And under President Trump’s leadership, that is exactly what we are getting.”
