"Antony Blinken, yesterday, he announced that you all gracious, kind, taxpaying Americans, are giving $157 million to Lebanon."
Greene made the comments to a crowd of Republicans in Cobb County, Florida, "Antony Blinken, yesterday, he announced that you all gracious, kind, taxpaying Americans, are giving $157 million to Lebanon."
Greene added that the funding for Americans impacted by Hurricane Helene has been giving "little crumbs" to citizens in South Carolina where towns and roads have been wiped out by Hurricane Helene. The storm has taken over 230 lives, and the death count is expected to increase.
The Post Millennial's Libby Emmons posted in response to Blinken in surprise, and a user on X, who identified himself as a Lebanese American said, "As a Lebanese/American, I promise you none of that money will ever reach any actual person that needs it. It will be split between dirty politicians, and most of them are [H]ezbollah affiliated! This is our money being tossed around for political bribery while our citizens here in the US are stranded and devastated by a hurricane!!"
Rocket fire and other attacks from the Iran-backed terror group Hezbollah have been coming across the border into Israel from its northern border intermittently over the last year starting the day after October 7. The group is funded by Iran and acts as a proxy for the country's regime and even has veto power in the Lebanese government, per the National Post.
There are also strong connections between Hamas and Hezbollah. The terrorist group north of Israel has housed top Hamas leaders and Hamas has also provided Hezbollah with military training.
