"It is dangerous and we're going to have to make sure that we understand that we're not at risk with this man talking in the way that he's doing.”

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) called supporters of former President Donald Trump "domestic terrorists" and speculated that they were "preparing a civil war against us."

“I am going to spend some time with the criminal justice system,” Waters said during an interview with MSNBC on Sunday, “asking them, tell us what's going on with the domestic terrorists. Are they preparing a civil war against us? Should we be concerned about our safety? What is he doing with this divisive language? It is dangerous and we're going to have to make sure that we understand that we're not at risk with this man talking in the way that he's doing.”

In 2021, Waters encouraged BLM protesters to "get more confrontational" with Republicans and in 2018 told Democrats and leftists to confront members of the Trump administration when they were seen in public.

Last month, Waters said she fears the "right-wing" organizations, who she said are "training up in the hills somewhere" in the event Trump is not elected in 2024.

The Democrat said she would be contacting the DOJ to find out the information about the supposed "right-wing groups" that are just waiting to attack if Trump loses.

The California congresswoman also called Trump a "pure racist" in the interview when she was reacting to the former president, saying that there is a "definite anti-white feeling in the country."

"We need to know now, given that he's telling us that there's going to be violence if he loses. We need to know what his plan is and how we're going to be protected," she added.
