Noah Green, the suspect who drove a car into a Capitol Hill barrier, killing a police officer and wounding another, is now being characterized as having mental problems by a legacy media that is all too eager to categorize every other attack as a "hate crime," depending on the identity of the assailants or their victims.
In recent weeks, some members of the media and President Joe Biden himself were quick to portray the mass attacks in Boulder, Colorado and Atlanta, Georgia as being fueled by racism, absent of the facts to support that narrative.
Green, 25, rammed his car into the barrier that surrounds the US Capitol in Washington DC, crushing the two officers in the process. Officer William Evans later died of his wounds.
According to The Hill, after Green got out of the car, he brandished a knife and charged other officers, who were forced to respond with deadly force, shooting him dead. The Hill's article reads, in part:
"A US official told the wire service that the investigation is focusing on Green’s mental health and that he has had suicidal thoughts, delusions and paranoia. Investigators believe that the attack was an isolated incident from a young man who was mentally unwell, according to the AP."
The article in the Associated Press claims that investigators are "increasingly focused on Green’s mental health as they work to identify any motive for the attack, said the official, who was not authorized to speak publicly about an ongoing investigation and spoke to The AP on condition of anonymity."
"The official said investigators had talked to Green’s family, who spoke of his increasingly delusional thoughts," the AP reported.
Facebook has since deleted posts of Green's which were posted in the days leading up to the fatal incident. In fact, as of this writing, Green's whole Facebook profile has been deactivated by the platform under Facebook's "Dangerous Individuals and Organizations" policy.
Green was a member and a staunch supporter of the Nation of Islam (NOI), a group considered by many to be spreading hate, prejudice and anti-Semitism, and there is some speculation that Green's involvement with the NOI may have been one of the reasons the corresponding posts have been removed.
