It has been revealed that in the days leading up to a Pennsylvania mother allegedly murdering her husband and 3-year-old son at a Great Wolf Lodge, she had been hit with a gas shutoff notice over a $30 unpaid bill, and that weeks before the trip, the mother had allegedly drained her husband’s retirement account.

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, was booked on two counts of criminal homicide on Tuesday. She has been accused of stabbing her husband, Charles Harrison, and their son, Tristain, to death at the Scotrun, PA resort.

Per the New York Post, while the family was away in the Poconos, a “72 hour shut off notice” from Valley Energy was taped to the front door of the family’s home. The note was dated October 5 and addressed to the mother, warning that her gas service could be disconnected on or after 8 am on October 8 over an unpaid balance of $29.05.

Metallica Harrison’s stepmother told the outlet that on September 21, her stepdaughter allegedly drained her husband’s 401(k) account to pay for the trip.

The trip had originally been scheduled to end on October 5, however, it was extended on the final day, with a revised checkout date of October 13. The trip is said to have cost around $6,000.

The family was seen entering the hotel room just before 7 pm on Sunday, later leaving to visit the resort’s arcade and returning to their room just before 11:30 pm. Harrison called 911 just before 1:30 pm the following day after allegedly killing her family, asking for assistance in killing herself.

She allegedly told the 911 operator that she was “too weak to stab my neck,” saying that the knives she had were “not working” and that she needed “help dying.”

She had slashed her neck and wrists and was taken to a local hospital. During her ride with EMS, she told first responders "Every day, I work so hard to be the best person, the best mother, the best wife.”
