On Tuesday, law enforcement arrested a man who allegedly vandalized a downtown Miami bagel and pizza shop last month by spray-painting anti-Israel graffiti on the building and on a flag. A police officer stopped 28-year-old Kenneth Guerrero at NW 2nd Avenue at approximately 9:15 am on June 16 because he fit the description of a man seen in security camera footage vandalizing Holy Bagels & Pizzeria at 93 NW 1st Street earlier that same morning.

The arrest report stated that Guerrero was wearing the same hooded sweatshirt with a white Foundation Skateboards logo that the suspect in the restaurant’s camera footage was wearing. Guerrero was arrested on one count of felony criminal mischief causing more than $1,000 in damage. He is also facing a hate crime enhancement.

Guerrero is accused of spray-painting “Free Palestine Stop Genocide” on the entrance of the building, ripping down a US and Israeli flag proclaiming “Stand With Israel” and spray-painting it with the message, “Free Palestine.”

"Today, City of Miami Police Detectives arrested 28-year-old Kenneth Guerrero for his involvement in a recent anti-Semitic vandalism incident that occurred at Holy Bagels & Pizzeria on June 16, 2024. The apprehension is a reminder that we will not tolerate such despicable acts of hate and will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our community remains a safe and inclusive place for all," said Chief of Police Manuel Morales.
