"It is unbelievable to me that so many Americans are so utterly naive and would fall for this and support misogyny, racism, xenophobia, hate, and violence."
A professor at Michigan State University (MSU) messaged her students that she could understand their "overwhelming grief" after the election of President-elect Donald Trump. She offered "free bonus points" if they had the strength to show up for class, Campus Reform reported Friday.
Alexa Veenema, who teaches behavioral neuroscience at MSU, wrote to students, "You must be as devastated as I am. And probably feel an overwhelming grief. It is unbelievable to me that so many Americans are so utterly naive and would fall for this and support misogyny, racism, xenophobia, hate, and violence," she continued.
Veenema said that she realized people might not feel like coming to class because, “I understand that you are not in the state of mind to learn anything.” So she offered “free bonus points” for students who decided to attend her lecture.
She exhorted her class to “seek out support” and suggested that “sharing your feelings … may lower your anxiety.”
A University of Oregon staffer suggested Trump supporters kill themselves in a video posted to social media Wednesday after Trump’s landslide victory was confirmed. Leonard Louis Serrato, the school's Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, ranted, "I'm done crying. My sadness is over. My anger has set it. I'm saying this in the most disrespectful way possible - I don't care if you are my family, I don't care if you are my friend, I don't care if we've been friends our entire lives - You can literally go f*ck yourself if you voted for Donald Trump."
"Do better in life. Get a f*cking education. Do something, cause you are f*cking stupid. And I hope that you go jump off of a f*cking bridge,” he urged.
Professors at Columbia University and Barnard College canceled classes in the wake of Trump’s win over failed Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris. Jewish students complained, noting that business had continued as usual after the Oct. 7, 2025 terrorist attack by Hamas on Israeli women and children.Powered by The Post Millennial CMS™ Comments
