US President Donald Trump has invited two top Michigan Republican lawmakers to meet with him at the White House on Friday.
Lee Chatfield, the House Speaker for the Michigan State Legislature, and Mike Shirkey, the Michigan Senate Republican Leader, will be going to Washington, DC to meet with the standing president, possibly to discuss such issues as the possible impeachment of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and to reverse the potential certification of Michigan's electoral votes in favor of Joe Biden.
The certification is currently in question, as the two Republican canvassers for Wayne Country have formally requested to rescind their "yes" votes to certify the election after new evidence was brought to their attention.
According to local media outlet Click On Detroit, there are many legal complications pending still regarding the election, especially touching on the state of Michigan, which has been the subject of no small controversy and has faced accusations of fraud pertaining to the electoral process.
The Trump campaign's legal strategy remains focused on dozens of legal actions across multiple key states which could, in combination, turn the election in his favour. This includes a recount request in Wisconsin, a recount in Georgia, and many other legal challenges in several states.
