A Minnseota grandmother of two was attacked by her neighbor’s pitbull after she tried to protect her two grandchildren from the animals. The dog bit chunks out of the woman’s arms, legs, and face.

Rhonda Stickney stated that the ravenous dog lunged at her daughter Tiffani and her grandchildren, Jaxsyen and Keyahra, as they stood in the doorway. She stepped in front of her family members to block the dog from getting to them. The dog proceeded to drag Stickney outside by the leg.

A GoFundMe has been launched to help Stickney, since the injuries she sustained are preventing her from going back to work. The attack took place April 23, and she has raised $170 of the $1,500 goal on GoFundMe.

The owner of the dog wrestled the animal off Stickney, but only after she had suffered injuries to her arms, legs, and face. Stickney said that the neighbor’s dog was outside and her dogs were “going crazy,” which is why she moved toward the door, according to Mirror

“My daughter opened the door and I saw the dog lunging over to the door, I stepped in front of her," Stickney said, per Daily Mail.

“My four-year-old grandson and two-year-old grandchild were stood next to her so thank God I did because if it had got hold of them it would have killed them.”

“I didn’t think twice about getting in front of them. It grabbed hold of my leg, knocked me down and dragged me out. It was so scary.”

“It went from my leg to my face. My adrenaline was going so bad that I don’t remember feeling anything. I was just so scared.”

“My grandchildren saw the whole thing. My daughter was screaming. It tore at my face and latched onto my arm.”

“My arm was punctured so when they went to rinse it to clean it out, it ran straight out the other side.”

“Its owner pulled it off me. I got hold of its jaw with both my hands so it couldn’t bite me anymore. I basically fought it off.”

“I walked into the house, I didn’t realize how bad it was. I saw in the mirror and I was gushing blood all over the place.”

Stickney was soon rushed to the hospital to her wounds treated, including trauma surgery. She had 40 stitches around her eye, eight stitiches in her mouth, and seven stitches on her arm. She also suffered a major wound on her thigh that had to be packed.

"I'm trying to raise money to help take care of my monthly expenses," she said on the fundraiser. "Recently I was attacked by my neighbors dog. It pulled me from my doorway to the ground by my leg then went after my face..My injuries to my face arm and leg were extensive enough to require trauma surgery, ending with 40+ stitches by my eye and on my chin, 8 stitches in my mouth, 7 stitches on my arm as well as punctures in my arm and a hole in my thigh that needs to be packed. The incident happened on April 23rd and I am unable to return to work until further notice. I would sincerely appreciate any help I receive. I had just started working again full time and moved into an apartment with my 8yr old grandson."
