On Friday, St. Louis Park High School in Minnesota was closed and multiple arrests were made after multiple fights broke out Thursday between Somali and black students, with parents joining in. ;

Video of the incident posted on X shows chaos inside the school with multiple students fighting as school officials tried to break it up. It cuts to a separate fight outside the school between two groups. ;

According to KSTP, 41-year-old Latoys Milon and 22-year-old Abreeha Smith were arrested after they got involved in a second altercation outside the school. Neither has been formally charged. ;

There were no major injuries reported, though some students and staff suffered some scrapes and bruises the school said in a statement. It noted, "As of now, there is no confirmation about the involvement of weapons in either altercation. We are actively gathering information and working closely with law enforcement to understand the full scope of these incidents, including whether or not the incidents were racially motivated." ;

In an interview with KARE 11, Sanaiah Milon claimed that she was targeted by a classmate who she argued with months ago. She said that students informed her that she was going to get "jumped." ;

"I got punched. And I got punched again from the other side," she said. "Then one student grabbed me by the neck and she tossed me and we were on the floor. And it was just kicks, punches...In my head, it felt like it was going on forever. Like, I was just scared."

Sanaiah's mother Latoys, who was arrested in the incident, said all she was thinking about was getting to her daughter. "She needs help. She needs somebody," she said.

"Now the way they're trying to make it look like we're the bad guys. It had nothing to do with race. I had nothing to do with anything. It was just trying to get to my daughter to make sure she's OK," Latoys concluded. ;

The school no longer has a resource officer inside the school, but the "juvenile response officer" who was outside the school responded to the incident inside. ;
