MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has teased a gubernatorial run in Minnesota in order to unseat Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. The MyPillow CEO has long been involved in politics and considered making a run in 2022 as well as 2018.

"I'm going to tell you, right now, I am considering running for Governor of the State of Minnesota," Lindell said on his platform LindellTV," later adding that he is going to do his "due diligence" with polling and other means to see if he should run.

"I live here in Minnesota, everywhere I go, nobody wants Tim Walz,” Lindell later added. “They don’t. Even if you’re a Democrat, you think he’s a good Democrat governor? They don’t even like him for what he did these nonsensical things he did."

The MyPillow founder has grown to become prominent in the MAGA movement as he has appeared with Trump at different events and has gotten more involved with politics over the last few years. Walz has been governor since 2019 and ran for vice president during the 2024 election on the ticket with former Vice President Kamala Harris as she made her bid at the presidency.

The next gubernatorial race in Minnesota will be held on November 3, 2026. According to the Washington Examiner, Walz has an approval rating of 42.5 percent nationwide, but it is higher in Minnesota with an approval rating of 52 percent as of February.

The last time Minnesota elected a Republican governor was in 2006, when the then-incumbent governor Tim Pawlenty beat Democrat Mike Hatch for the role.
