Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) was seen on body cam footage shoving and pushing ICE agents in order to enter a New Jersey ICE detention facility, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Fox News' Bill Melugin reported, "DHS has provided Fox News ICE bodycam video from the altercation at the Delaney Hall detention facility yesterday. They say the video clearly shows Rep. LaMonica (red clothing) shoving/elbowing her way past a DHS agent to get past the gate and into the property, followed behind by Rep Menendez & that it also shows Congresswoman McIver screaming in the faces of DHS agents."

"The members of Congress claim they were assaulted and 'roughed up' during the incident and deny DHS’ characterization that they 'stormed' the facility," Melugin added.

On Friday, there were three members of Congress at the Delaney Hall ICE detention center. The three Democratic Congressmen that were present included McIver as well as Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ) and Rob Menendez (D-NJ). Additionally, Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested after reportedly refusing to leave the property.

Reports stated that the three lawmakers "stormed" the property in order to enter through a gate and get past security. Two of the lawmakers made statements online, saying that they were there to conduct "oversight" as members of Congress.

"As congressional members, we have the power to conduct oversight. That’s what we’re here to do," McIver posted as a caption to a video on social media.

Multiple users on social media saw the video, and referred to the incident as an "insurrection" committed by McIver. The Post Millennial's senior editor Andy Ngo commented, "This looks like an insurrection against the federal government."

Others called for McIver's arrest after the video was released. "Members of Congress assaulted law enforcement. Arrest them. Hold them accountable. It’s fkn disgusting. Shame on every one of them," one social media user said.
