A man has been charged with felony assault on law enforcement. His alleged weapon of choice: a Subway sandwich, and he has been fired from his job at the Department of Justice, according to Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Sean Charles Dunn, 37, has been charged with felony assault in connection with the incident, where he was reportedly captured on video using a Subway sandwich after shouting at a group of federal officers, calling them “fascists” before throwing the sandwich at the group, striking a US Customs and Border Protection agent.

Bondi posted after the man was arrested, "If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you. I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice — NO LONGER. Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony. This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ. You will NOT work in this administration while disrespecting our government and law enforcement."

FBI Director Kash Patel announced the arrest on X as well, saying that agency officials detained the suspect.

“He thought it was funny. Well he doesn’t think it’s funny today because we charged him with a felony: Assault on a police officer,” DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro said with a video posted to social media.

“So there, stick your Subway sandwich somewhere else!” she added. A criminal complaint stated that Dunn confessed to throwing the sandwich at the police officers. “I did it. I threw a sandwich," the police report recorded him saying, per the New York Post.

The affidavit stated that Dunn pointed at the agent's face, and yelled profanities at him for several minutes and said, "Why are you here? I don't want you in my city!" before hurling the sandwich at the officer. Video showed the suspect throw the sandwich and then run away as he was getting pursued by law enforcement. NBC 4 reported, citing a source, that Dunn had worked in the international affairs department in the criminal division at the Department of Justice before getting fired over the incident.

The case comes as President Donald Trump has federalized the police in Washington, DC as well as deployed the National Guard to tamp down criminality in the capital city of the United States. As the move has been implemented, Democratic politicians as well as left-wing pundits have claimed that crime in DC is down, citing criminal record statistics.

However, the DC Fraternal Order of Police has argued that the statistics have been manipulated by their superiors in order to downplay an uptick in violent crime. Since Trump has moved federal authorities into the area, the hundreds of additional law enforcement officers have made over 100 arrests. 23 of those suspects were taken into custody on Monday and 43 were arrested on Tuesday, per the White House.

Those arrested include 33 suspects charged with gun crimes, 23 suspected illegal immigrants, seven wanted on drug crimes, and 10 who have outstanding warrants.
