New poll shows Liberals taking their lead back from Conservatives

A new Nanos poll released on Monday has the Liberals once again inching ahead of the Conservative party, although the race is still very tight, with only three points' difference between the two.

The current rankings, according to the newest poll conducted for CTV, are the following:

• Liberal Party 33.2 percent
• Conservative Party  30.2 percent
• NDP   18.6 percent
• Bloc Quebecois 6.8 percent
• People's Party 6.6 percent
• Green Party 3.7 percent
• Other   0.8 percent
• Not decided yet 8.2 percent

While the Liberal party has a slight lead as of today, they are still much more hard-pressed against their chief rival, the Conservatives, than they were just a month ago, as this chart shows:

The race is still a statistical dead-heat between the two most favoured parties, and indeed, the Conservatives still had a lead just six short days ago on Tuesday.

It's also worth noting that the "undecided" group is still very much high enough to drastically influence the results of the election, which is to take place on the following Tuesday, Sept. 20 2021.

Details of the methodology and reliability of the poll are included here below:

"A national dual-frame (land+cell) random telephone survey is conducted nightly by Nanos Research throughout the campaign using live agents. Each evening a new group of 400 eligible voters are interviewed."

"The daily tracking figures are based on a three-day rolling sample comprised of 1,200 interviews. To update the tracking a new day of interviewing is added and the oldest day dropped. The margin of error for a survey of 1,200 respondents is + or  - 2 percent."
