The lines to hear Trump speak the summit snaked through the the conference center where moms, parents, and those who endorse parental rights waited to hear him make his case for why he, and not any of the other GOP candidates in the 2024 field, should lead the country for the next presidential term.

He was well received by the attendees, who were as undaunted by the protesters as they were by the recent warning from the SPLC that the organization is a "hate group."

Trump addressed that in his remarks, too, assuring those present that they were not domestic extremists, like the Biden administration under Merrick Garland has claimed.

"Under Biden, the Department of Injustice and the FBI have even targeted YOU," he told those assembled, "patriotic parents at school board meetings. These corrupt thugs labeled you as national security threats alongside drug cartels, human traffickers, and domestic terrorists. The Radical Left is even slandering Moms for Liberty as a so-called 'Hate Group.'"

Protesters outside the event insisted that parents who are sticking up for their kids at school board meetings, in stage legislatures, and on social media are hateful. They insist, without fact or evidence, that Moms for Liberty, a group founded to get schools reopened during the pandemic, is anti-black and anti-LGBTQ.

"But Moms for Liberty is no 'hate group'—you are 'JOYFUL WARRIORS' and fierce patriots. YOU’RE not the threat to America—Joe Biden and the Democrat Communists are the threat to America. And together, we are going to throw them out of office on Election Day 2024," Trump said.
