American trucker convoy headed to southern border to bring attention to Biden’s border crisis

A trucker convoy called the "Army of God" is headed to the US southern border to stand in solidarity with Texas and the state's decision to invoke the invasion clause of the Constitution over the historic illegal immigration crisis at the southern border due to the Biden administration's open border policies.
The trucker convoy titled "Take Back Our Border" is set to begin on Jan. 29 and will span over the course of four days. They have asked for the event to remain peaceful.
The convoy will make stops in three hotspots where illegal immigrants are known to invade the United States. This includes Eagle Pass, Texas; Yuma, Arizona; and San Ysidro, California.
The group hopes to bring attention to the crisis at the US border with Mexico due to the Biden administration's open border policies, according to the Daily Mail. More than 6 million illegal immigrants have entered the US since Biden took over the White House in 2021.

View on XDr. Pete Chambers, one of the leaders of the convoy who is a retired US Army Lt. Colonel, told journalist Tucker Carlson: "This is a peaceful assembly."
"This is what we do as Americans," said Chambers. "This is how we shed light to a subject. This shedding of light will result in exposing what an open border policy really looks like."
"There are people that have never heard of the border problem because they just watch mainstream media, so that is what this is about," he explained.
Congressman Keith Self (R-TX) praised the convoy, according to the outlet, and said: "Once again, the truckers are standing for We the People."
"The time is NOW to take action and secure our borders!" said Self.
Since Gov. Abbott invoked the invasion clause after the US Supreme Court sided with the Biden administration last week and issued a temporary ruling that the federal government can remove Texas's border security barriers, Republican governors across 25 states have shown support for Texas. Some of these governors have announced that they will be deploying their National Guards to Texas to help the state amid a potential looming federal showdown.
"I think the border has now reached a boiling point, that you now see governors getting involved,' Self told Fox Business.
"We have a trucker convoy coming down to the border. The American people are going to have to get involved," he added.
"These people are committed to a peaceful demonstration, that we have had enough-- the American people have had enough. We're demanding the Biden Administration do its job, enforce the laws on the books and secure our border," Self continued.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick argued that the state has a right to "protect our people."

Gov. Abbott said the state is prepared for a federal showdown.
