Balenciaga SLAMMED for ‘Satanic’ head designer in wake of pedophilia controversy

On Twitter, many users have posted images from Volkova's Instagram, which is now private. Detransitioner Oli London posted a sampling and wrote, "T/W: These are shocking posts from Balenciagas stylist Lotta Volkova who has a sick obsession with torture, satan & child Mutilation These pics are beyond shocking but there are far worse on her Instagram which I won't share Notice a common theme with the brand now? #balenciaga"

Juanita Broaddrick posted, "This is the Chief Designer for Balenciaga, Lotta Volkova. Enough said. They knew exactly what they were doing."

The ads raised child-safeguarding concerns as they showed children holding teddy bears in bondage gear, as well as backgrounds featuring legal briefs about child pornography cases, specifically an excerpt from a Supreme Court Case upholding a federal child porn law. Those bears are accessories from Balenciaga's Spring 2023 collection. One photograph depicted a child standing on a pink bed holding a teddy bear wearing wrist and ankle restraints, a fishnet top, and a leather collar and was taken from the main page of the Balenciaga US site. Another image of a child standing on a sofa holding a teddy bear wearing a leather harness was taken from the gift shop catalog. In the full image of each, a second teddy bear wearing bondage gear can be seen in the shots.

These images were part of an ad campaign launched on Instagram starting Nov 16 as part of the Spanish company's spring 2023 collection. The images were shot by National Geographic photographer Gabriele Galimberti, whose "Toy Stories" project features a series of photographs from around the world of children surrounded by their favorite toys.

Balenciaga announced their plan to sue the ad creator after the social media storm. That photographer, Gabriele Galimberti, said that he had no input on the "creative direction of the photoshoot," which brought the attention back to Volkova.

Robbie Starbuck also noted that the Creative Director of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia, simply known as Demna, said "Someone wrote that Lotta, Gosha and I grew up on child pornography and radiation from Chernobyl which is why we're so fucked up."

Gosha is a Russian fashion designer accused of soliciting sexually explicit images from a 16-year-old boy.

Balenciaga can no longer be found on Twitter after recently deleting their account in protest of Elon Musk taking over. One of the first orders of business on Musk’s agenda has been to tackle the issue of child sex abuse materials being shared on the social media platform.

Tucker Carlson also hit back at the luxury fashion house, accusing it of "promoting kiddie porn" and blasted the American mainstream media for ignoring the distasteful ad campaign.
