Tara Reade, who came forward with allegations of sexual assault against Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden, has come forward again, accusing the entire party of handling her claims, and those of others, very poorly.
Reade said that the party had gone as far as to be complicit, and even in some cases actively participating, in the "gaslighting" of sexual abuse survivors, according to Fox News.
"I've communicated with other people who are watching this who had very visceral reactions to what's happening and how sexual assault survivors... We're being gaslighted, right, collectively," she said.
"They're pretending that they're the upholders of the 'Me Too' like a shield but meanwhile," Reade said, "some of their main Democratic elites, some of the main powerful people involved with the party are actually perpetrators themselves. And it's this denial, collective denial and gaslighting of survivors, that's been so concerning to me."
Reade went on to say that rape culture in the US is "thriving under the Democratic Party."
"I feel that they are not only enabling but they are allowing that behavior to continue just by virtue of who they lined up as speakers who have credible sexual assault and harassment allegations against them and I feel like there's an abandonment of the voices that are trying to be heard that really wanted systemic change."
Reade identifies herself as a lifelong Democrat and is deeply troubled by the current state of her chosen political party, and also by the mainstream media’s willingness to sweep such numerous and serious allegations under the rug.
She claims her offer to speak at the Republican convention next week is still on the table, since the Democrats are unwilling to listen to her story, and refused her request to let her speak at their own convention.
Accusations of sexual misconduct on the part of Biden have been common for some time now, and have come from many different angles. One such accusation, ironically, came directly from his now running mate, Kamala Harris.
Neither Biden himself nor any other representative of the Democratic party have responded or commented to the issue recently. Their last communication on the subject was a short but vehement denial back in May, "never happened."
