Biden’s favorability plummets, more Americans say country is heading in the wrong direction: Poll

A new poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Research found that just 39 percent of adults in the US approve of Biden’s performance as president.

And only about two in ten adults believe America is heading in the right direction or that the economy is in a good condition.

In April, Fox News reported about three in ten adults believed both.

The May drop in favorability is largely concentrated among the president's own party, with just 33 percent of Democratic voters believing the country is headed in the right direction — down from 49 percent from the month before.

America's tanking economy is one of the largest reasons for Biden's dismal poll numbers. Two-thirds of Americans say they disapprove of the way his administration has presided over the situation, as Americans suffer from runaway inflation, record high fuel prices, and a baby formula shortage.

According to the poll, just 18 percent of Americans say Biden’s policies have helped more than hurt the economy, down from 24 percent in March. Another 51 percent of Americans say Biden's economic policies have hurt the economy more than helped.

Among Democrats, Biden’s overall approval sits at 73 percent, a nine point drop from the same poll from last year. Biden didn't dropped below 82 percent approval in 2021.

Poor poll numbers aren’t exclusive to Biden. With 46 percent of respondents favoring Republican candidates over 39 percent who prefer a Democratic candidates, it appears Americans may be prepared to oust Democrats from Congress in the upcoming election, according to The Blaze.
