A trans-identified male in Montana has been sentenced to five years’ probation after being convicted of the abuse of a physically and mentally disabled girlfriend, reports Reduxx.
Serenity Alana Mann, 34, was sentenced in a Montana court last week in relation to domestic violence charges after repeatedly strangling a former partner, a woman who was said to be particularly vulnerable due to an existing disability and a previous traumatic brain injury. Mann had threatened to harm her if she went to police about the abuse she was enduring.

View on RumbleDuring the sentencing hearing, a statement by the victim was read out, in which she pleaded with the court to protect her from being further harmed by Mann.
“All I ask is please protect me and don’t let Serenity keep her word by hurting or even killing me,” said the victim, referring to her male abuser with female pronouns. It is reported that she began the relationship with Mann before the abuser’s decision to transition.
According to Reduxx, police first became aware of Mann’s abusive behavior in Nov 2021 when responding to an unrelated call at the property. The victim told police Mann had knocked her down and held her in a choke-hold that almost resulted in her blacking out.
During the trial, the prosecution observed that Mann expressed a lack of remorse and local media reported that Mann’s main defense seemed to be that the victim got the date of the strangulation wrong.
Despite the prosecution seeking a prison sentence, arguing that strangulation was “practice for homicide,” Mann was given a suspended sentence. The trans-identified abuser will spend one week in jail each year, for five years, totalling 35 days behind bars. Mann is also required to complete 200 hours of community service during the same term.
According to the Independent Record, Mann will be placed on the violent offender registry and must alert a probation officer to any future romantic partners. Mann is also required to inform future partners of the terms of probation and is barred from having any direct or indirect contact with the victim.
The Montana Department of Corrections directory records Mann’s gender as “female.” It is not yet known whether the 6 ft, 330 lb male abuser will serve any of the 35 days of prison time in a women’s prison. Reduxx contacted the Montana Department of Corrections for information but has yet to receive a reply.
This is not Mann’s first brush in with the law. In 2020, Mann was charged with a felony assault after threatening a female driver with a crowbar during a road rage incident. At the time, Mann told police of having trouble with anger and controlling violent impulses.
Mann received a two-year deferred sentence for criminal endangerment which ended Sept 2021, only two months before the charges of domestic violence that led to this latest conviction.
